What Happened?
On November 12th, 2020, Justin was driving a truck for work on Interstate 87 in the Town of Ramapo, New York. While traveling south in the center lane, another car behind him was speeding towards his truck in the same lane. The driver of that car failed to notice Justin’s truck traveling at a lower rate of speed and quickly merged onto the right lane to avoid rear-ending Justin. Unfortunately, there was another vehicle in the right lane and the driver lost control of his car attempting to merge back onto the center lane and hit Justin’s truck. The collision forced Justin’s truck to go left, causing a third car to crash into the left guard rail. Justin’s truck rolled over onto the passenger’s side and he was suspended by his seatbelt! He was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Suffern, New York where he was evaluated, treated, and discharged home.
Justin injured his neck and lower back as a result of the accident. Initially, he also experienced chest pain in the rib cage area and headaches. He had difficulty sitting, standing, and lifting. Justin felt constant lower back pain on the right side that felt worse with certain sleeping positions. His neck pain was described as a throbbing, stabbing, and shooting sensation with muscle tension that would radiate down his right upper extremity. Due to the severity and ongoing nature of his pain, Justin’s injuries limited his ability to participate in the daily activities he once enjoyed. When minimally invasive pain management therapy failed, he underwent a pain management injection on July 13th, 2021 and neck surgery on March 25th, 2022.
Four days after the accident, Justin called us for legal help since he already knew about The Case Handler team from our radio show. Despite the fact that he had a prior car accident in 2019, our skilled Rockland County trucking accident lawyers at Pollack, Pollack, Isaac & DeCicco, LLP paid all of Justin’s medical bills, recovered the maximum policy limits of $25,000.00 from the Defendant’s insurance company, and recovered an additional $850,000.00 of supplemental underinsured motorist (SUM) coverage for a grand total settlement of $875,000.00!
