The facts
On January 18th, 2017, Charles was doing construction as a steelworker for a staircase when a piece of wood scaffolding collapsed causing Charles, other workers, and construction material/debris to fall. He fell about 7-8 feet and landed on the stairs! To make matters worse, another worker landed on top of his right leg. Thankfully, he did not lose consciousness and went to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center that evening where he was examined, treated, and discharged with medication.
As a result of the workplace construction accident, Charles injured his lower back and knees. Charles reported difficulty with daily chores, walking more than 5 blocks, sitting down for more than 20-30 minutes, taking out the garbage, and using the stairs. After suffering immensely due to his persistent pain, Charles decided to seek further treatment since the pain medication provided only partial relief. He participated in physical therapy three times a week and underwent steroid injections to his spine and right knee. Additionally, he was unable to go back to work for several months after the accident.
Thanks to a “friend of a friend,” Charles was told that there was only one team to get his case handled by and that was The Case Handler team! With the help of our skilled Queens scaffolding accident lawyers at Pollack, Pollack, Isaac & DeCicco, LLP, Charles recovered $100,000.00 from the Defendant’s insurance company!
