“I want to thank my attorney, Matthew Goodstein, for his dedication and perseverance in my case. The result was incredibly the best.”
- Johnny from Flushing, NY
What Happened?
On November 17, 2023, Johnny was riding his bicycle in Queen, New York. He stopped at the intersection of Booth Memorial Avenue and 164th Street, waiting for the light to change. Once it was safe to proceed, he began riding his bike through the crosswalk when a vehicle turned right and struck him. The impact sent Johnny flying off his bike, causing him to land hard on his left side. At the scene, the driver apologized to Johnny. However, when speaking to the police, the driver claimed they had a green light, the right-of-way to turn, and did not see the bicyclist. Johnny was transported by ambulance to the hospital where he was evaluated, treated, and later discharged.
Johnny sustained serious injuries to his left shoulder, left hip, and left knee. Although he was able to walk after the accident, he experienced severe pain and a noticeable limp. In the months following the crash, he continued to suffer from residual pain, discomfort, and limited mobility in his left shoulder, particularly with overhead movements, rotation, and heavy lifting. He also experienced clicking, popping, and buckling in his left knee. His pain remained persistent and debilitating. Despite undergoing conservative treatment, Johnny’s condition did not improve. As a result, he required multiple pain management injections, as well as surgeries on his left knee, left shoulder, and left hip.
Johnny’s Settlement With Our Queens Bicycle Accident Lawyers
Johnny’s son discovered The Case Handler team on Facebook and was impressed by the outstanding results we had achieved for others. Just three days later, Johnny reached out to our team for representation. While Johnny focused on his recovery, we handled the battle with the Defendant’s insurance company. Initially, the Defendant’s insurer offered $50,000 – a sum that might seem significant but was nowhere near enough to cover Johnny’s damages. Knowing he deserved more, we prepared to take the case to court. Not wanting to face our relentless Queens bicycle accident lawyers at trial, the Defendant ultimately agreed to a $280,000 settlement for Johnny!
