What Happened?
On November 15, 2011, Junior was working as a dry wall installer worker when he fell 6 feet off an unstable “baker scaffold” that later toppled over and landed on top of him. As a result of his fall, Junior briefly lost consciousness only to wake up with severe right wrist pain (with swelling and deformity), as well as pain to his head, shoulder, and neck.
Junior’s co-workers immediately took him by car to the Emergency Department at Hudson Valley Hospital Center where he was diagnosed with a severe right wrist fracture as well as cervical spine and right shoulder injuries. Junior underwent open reduction internal fixation surgery (ORIF) for his right wrist a few days after and later underwent fusion surgery on his cervical spine after having failed conservative treatment to manage the pain, strength and range of motion deficits.
As a past client and friend of Adam Handler for over 16 years, Junior knew exactly who to call. This was particularly important because Adam assisted Junior with a car accident case several years prior in which Junior had similar neck and shoulder injuries.
Adam “The Case” Handler monitored Junior’s medical treatment and progress toward healing, while building his injury case. Adam also referred Junior to a workers compensation attorney who assisted with getting all medical bills and lost wages paid. With the legal guidance of The Case Handler and the team of medical experts, we ultimately presented a detailed “life care plan” setting forth Junior’s needs for future medical care, along with the costs associated with such care. As a result, our team successfully helped Junior obtain a $1,075,000.00 settlement award!
