What Happened?
On April 8th, 2019, Tracey-Ann was an innocent belted passenger in the back of a Lyft. As she was stopped at a red light in Nassau County, New York, another driver crashed into the back of her vehicle. Upon police arrival, the other driver claimed that his brakes were not working and could not stop! As a result of the impact, Tracey-Ann’s Lyft was pushed into the rear of the car in front of them. Tracey-Ann’s pain was so severe at the scene of the accident requiring her to be transported via EMS to the emergency room at Mercy Medical Center Hospital.
In the days and weeks following her car accident, Tracey-Ann felt severe pain in her neck and lower back which caused numbness in her right hand and feet. On most days, she described her pain on a scale from 1-10 (10 being the worst) as a 10. The pain in her neck and back felt like a sharp and burning sensation, making it difficult to climb stairs. Daily activities like bending and walking were painful, too. Even with physical therapy 3 times per week, she claimed only “temporary” relief at best.
The Case Handler team was made known to Tracey-Ann through a friend, and what a blessing that was. We successfully settled her bodily injury claim for the maximum policy limits of $100,000.00 from the defendant’s insurance company, GEICO. We also helped to ensure all her medical bills were paid even after the insurance company attempted to cut off her medical benefits. “I can’t thank them enough. They were more concerned about my health and encouraged me to get the best care possible. The words ‘thank you’ is not enough,” she raved.
