- The Family of Paulina
What Happened?
On July 22, 2013, Paulina was crossing the street on Flatbush Avenue near the intersection of Clarkson Avenue in Brooklyn, New York when an oncoming van struck her! Apparently, the driver was not paying attention to the road and resulted in a tragic accident. Paulina was hospitalized for four days and sadly, she passed away.
As a result of the accident, Paulina lost her life. The blunt impact injuries to her head consisted of an abrasion of the right forehead, a scalp hemorrhage, traumatic brain injury and brainstem hemorrhages. The blunt impact injuries of her torso consisted of an abrasion of her upper back, a fracture in her thoracic spine, and multiple right side rib fractures. All the previously mentioned injuries caused Paulina much pain, suffering, disability, discomfort and eventually death.
There’s nothing our team or anyone could do that would take away the pain and suffering Paulina and her family had to endure. While no amount of money can ever replace a life, our team can still fight for justice by making sure the driver responsible for the accident is held accountable and by helping Paulina’s family receive fair compensation for all they went through. At the time of the accident, the driver claimed there was nobody in the car that distracted him and blamed Paulina for the accident. With the help of our team, we got access to nearby cameras that recorded the incident and it clearly revealed that the driver lied because the videos clearly showed a passenger opening the van door after Paulina was hit. Since the driver was caught in a lie, The Case Handler team successfully helped Paulina’s family get the justice and compensation they deserved.
