What Happened?
On November 29th, 2019, the 28-year-old police officer, James, was driving to work in the middle lane of South Bound Bronx River Parkway, in New York, when he was rear-ended by another vehicle. The force of the impact was so intense, that it propelled his vehicle forward causing it to overturn!
Even though the airbag deployed in his car, the driver at fault fled the accident scene on foot, leaving his car and key behind. The police found his vehicle and an open container of alcohol (a bottle of Hennessy) in the passenger seat. Both vehicles were then towed.
As a result of the accident, James sustained a bone contusion in his right leg. He also suffered a herniated disc in his lower back requiring rigorous physical therapy and pain management sessions. As a result of the accident, James was unable to work for 2 weeks.
We are glad to report that James is feeling much better now. But it could have been worse. Thanks to the hard-working personal injury team at PPID, James recovered a lump sum settlement that alleviated the financial pain he felt, by obtaining the MAXIMUM INSURANCE POLICY LIMITS. James’s medical bills were also paid in full.
The Case Handler team at Pollack Pollack Isaac & DeCicco had previously represented a family member of James. Therefore James didn’t think twice, he called our team and we went straight to work so that he could focus on his recovery and stop worrying about the rest.
