What Happened?
On January 4th, 2020, Patrick was a pedestrian crossing the street at the intersection of Sutter Avenue and Snedikes Avenue in Brooklyn. As he was crossing, a vehicle driving on Sutter Avenue made a left turn at a high rate of speed and struck Patrick. He fell to the ground and had a momentary loss of consciousness. He was brought by ambulance to Wyckoff Heights Medical Center where he was treated and released home with pain medication.
As a result of the accident, Patrick initially suffered injuries to his neck, back (upper, middle, and lower), left foot, and right knee. Patrick also experienced post-traumatic headaches that, thankfully, clinically improved with time. About two months after the accident, the pain he used to feel in his neck, upper back, and left foot improved as well! He continued feeling ongoing pain in his mid-back, lower back (with tingling of the right leg), and right knee. Patrick felt more right knee pain with weight-bearing, prolonged sitting, prolonged standing, and regular walking. Patrick had to use a cane to assist with his ambulation. He attended physical therapy for several months, participated in a daily home exercise program, and underwent a pain management injection in his lower back on January 7, 2021.
As a loyal listener of our radio show, Patrick knew all about Adam Handler and The Case Handler team. Two days after his accident, he reached out to us to see if he had a case that we could handle for him – and we could! Patrick was honest and admitted to crossing the street against the “Do Not Walk” signal. Although we knew the insurance company would try to blame Patrick for the accident, our talented Brooklyn pedestrian collision lawyer at Pollack, Pollack, Isaac & DeCicco, LLP proved that the driver was liable! In the end, we helped Patrick recover his lost wages and $24,500.00 settlement!
