What Happened?
On February 10, 2019, Brian was on his way to the airport. He was only a block away from home when he drove through the intersection of Linden Boulevard and Utica Avenue, and another driver ran a red light! The driver struck the passenger’s side of Brian’s car (pictured below). He was taken by ambulance to the emergency room at Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center. Brian was evaluated and later released home later that day. After two days of intense pain, he returned to the hospital.
As a result of the accident, Brian injured his neck, lower back, and right shoulder. He suffered bulging discs in his spine and compression fractures in his neck that later required pain management injections on the right side of his neck. The pain increased while performing daily activities like lying down, walking, lifting, and getting dressed. Plus, he experienced occasional dizziness in the mornings. Brian was initially prescribed five days of therapy and could not go back to work for months because of his ongoing symptoms.
Today, Brian still experiences pain. However, he is all-too-sure he would have experienced more of it, physically and financially, if he hadn’t ended up in The Case Handler team’s capable hands. The defendant’s insurance company, GEICO, offered Brian $17,500. Thanks to the recommendation of his father and brother, and the diligent work of our personal injury team at PPID, Brian recovered $85,000.00, an additional $24,000 in lost wages, and his entire $14,000.00 medical bill was paid off! “They did better than I could have ever imagined! What I appreciated most about Adam is how attentive and communicative he is. Even when I moved away to Florida, they kept me informed,” he said.
