What Happened?
On June 23rd, 2020, Bobby was driving westbound on Eastchester Road in the Bronx. He was approaching the intersection of Hicks Street when a vehicle to his left started to change lanes. The vehicle was merging to the right lane and did not see Bobby in that lane! The vehicle collided along the driver’s front quarter panel of Bobby’s car and his car subsequently struck a parked vehicle. Initially, Bobby did not feel badly injured so he did not seek immediate medical care and went home. He started to feel pain and went to an urgent care facility where he was evaluated, treated, and discharged home with pain medication.
As a result of the accident, Bobby sustained injuries to his neck (cervical spine) and mid back. He experienced headaches with ongoing neck pain that he described as a throbbing, aching, stabbing, and burning sensation that would radiate toward the left upper extremity. His pain grew worse with excessive activity and when lifting heavy objects. Bobby’s pain limited his ability to participate in the activities he once enjoyed and to sleep restfully. He attended physical therapy, underwent pain management injections, and was unable to work for over a year.
Thanks to his sister’s recommendation, Bobby decided to contact The Case Handler team! The Defendant’s insurance company offered Bobby $10,010 and refused to pay him more. It’s like they tried to sweeten the deal by throwing in an additional $10. With a deal on the table, the easy thing would be to accept it and move on to another case like some law firms do, but that’s NOT how we do things at Pollack, Pollack, Isaac & DeCicco, LLP! With the help of our excellent Bronx unsafe lane change accident lawyers, we filed a lawsuit against the Defendant and successfully recovered $40,000, all of his lost wages, and made sure Bobby’s medical bills were all paid!
