What Happened?
On May 9, 2022, Kent was in a car rental, waiting at a stoplight at the intersection of Liberty Avenue and 133rd Street in Queens, New York. As soon as the light turned green, he began to slowly inch forward behind the vehicle in front of him when he heard a car accelerating and was suddenly rear-ended by another driver. The impact was so severe that the other vehicle lifted onto its front tires before slamming back down. Immediately after the accident, the other driver got out of the vehicle, walked away, and never returned to the scene. Kent later visited urgent care and was transferred to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was examined, treated, and discharged with a prescription for pain medication.
