What Happened?
On September 3, 2019, Ellie was walking home from shopping with her personal shopping cart around noon when she encountered a mattress and garbage debris blocking the sidewalk path. As she walked around the debris to cross the street, her cart got stuck in a hole of an uneven, broken curb near Booth Street and 67th Road in Forest Hills, NY, causing her to trip and fall, landing on her outstretched left arm. Kind witnesses helped pull Ellie into a sitting position on the road until emergency responders arrived. Ellie’s arm was placed in a sling and then taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital, where she was further examined, treated, and admitted for a few days.
