What Happened?

On June 9, 2021, Allen was heading home from work and merging onto Interstate 95 in front of a tour bus late at night when the aggressive bus driver refused to let Allen into the right lane. Allen had passed the on-ramp and was driving slightly on the shoulder when his vehicle was rear-ended by the bus 3-4 times. Upon impact, Allen’s body was thrown backward and forward multiple times, causing him to hit his head on the headrest. He felt sharp pain in his lower back immediately after the accident. After filing a report with the police, Allen went home to rest, not expecting to need medical attention. However, his pain worsened the next morning, preventing him from working. He went to urgent care for evaluation and treatment and was discharged with a prescription for pain medication and muscle relaxants.

Following the accident, Allen suffered injuries to his back and left leg. Due to severe pain, he was unable to pivot his body and complained of limping. He experienced sharp and aching lower back pain with muscle spasms on the left side that radiated down his leg to the heel of his foot. Additionally, he had intermittent numbness and tingling in the left leg, difficulty walking, and difficulty sleeping. He had a lot of difficulty getting in and out of the car and felt that his leg had become weaker. Allen’s pain worsened with bending and twisting, sitting, standing, and lying down. When conservative treatment failed to improve his condition, Allen underwent lower back (left L5/S1 disc herniation) pain management injections and was unable to return to work for about 13 months.

Years ago, Allen first heard about Adam Handler - The Case Handler. He went online and thankfully found us on Google! A few days after his accident, Allen called our team for legal representation. Despite the police report framing Allen as the party that hit the bus and inaccurately stating the accident was a sideswipe when it was a rear-end collision, and the insurance company's top offer of $20,000, our Town of Harrison rear-end accident lawyers stepped in and set the record straight. With the help of our personal injury team, Allen’s medical expenses were paid, he recovered his lost wages, and was awarded a $75,000.00 settlement at arbitration!
