What Happened?
On October 7th, 2020, Carl was driving on the Belt Parkway near Ocean Avenue in Brooklyn, New York when he was involved in a rear-end collision. He was driving about 55 mph when he was rear-ended by a vehicle that claimed to have also been rear-ended by another vehicle that fled the scene. The force of the impact caused the airbags in his car to deploy. Carl was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Coney Island where he was examined, treated, and released home.
As a result of the accident, Carl suffered injuries to his lower back, pelvis, and ribs. X-ray testing found that his right ribs (six through ten) were fractured. The pain in his lower back and pelvis made it difficult to get in and out of a chair. Carl was required to attend physical therapy and participate in a daily home exercise program. Thankfully, Carl had no surgeries or pain management injections. He was totally disabled for approximately eight weeks and remained partially disabled. The vehicle Carl was driving at the time of the accident was totaled.
Carl had heard our radio show before the accident ever happened. He was so impressed with our attorneys that he remembered what law firm to call for his accident. “What impressed me the most was their honesty. I know I can trust PPID,” said Carl. What initially appeared to be more of a complicated case involving a hit-and-run vehicle, the car that struck Carl suspiciously did not have much evidence of being rear-ended in the “left rear bumper” as the driver had claimed to the police. With the help of our experienced Brooklyn false police report accident lawyer at Pollack, Pollack, Isaac & DeCicco, LLP, we handled Carl’s medical bills and helped him recover $75,000.00 from the real at-fault driver that tried to pull a fast one – but wasn’t fast enough for The Case Handler!
