What Happened?
On December 8th, 2018, Paul was driving southbound on Ocean Avenue and Avenue O in Brooklyn when another vehicle driving northbound on the same street made an illegal u-turn over double solid lines right in front of Paul! The front of Paul’s vehicle collided with the rear/passenger side of the other vehicle. Paul experienced a few seconds of disorientation following the initial impact and developed an instantaneous headache with dizziness and progressive musculoskeletal pain. He received medical attention by EMS at the accident scene but was not taken to the hospital since he didn’t think he was that injured. After two nights of sleeping problems and worsening pain, he went to the doctor.
As a result of the accident, Paul suffered injuries to his neck, right shoulder (partial tear), lower back, left wrist/hand, and left leg. The pain in his neck radiated to his right shoulder/upper back, and the pain in his lower back radiated to his posterior thighs and left leg with prolonged standing, sitting, bending, or lifting. He experienced weakness in his hands (more pronounced on the left side) and weakness/heaviness in his left leg. Paul went to physical therapy three times a week and was required to undergo right shoulder surgery on March 19, 2019. Paul was totally disabled for about 4 months and remains partially disabled to date.
After Paul’s accident, his girlfriend told him about Adam Handler and how he was the best person to speak to about his case. Thanks to her glowing recommendation, Paul contacted The Case Handler team! During our investigation, we discovered that the other driver told the police that Paul was the one that crashed into them as they were pulling out of a gas station, and the police sketched the wrong accident diagram in the official police report. With the help of our resilient Brooklyn illegal u-turn accident attorneys at Pollack, Pollack, Isaac & DeCicco, LLP, we set the record straight and recovered $80,000.00 for Paul!
