What Happened?
On March 23rd, 2018, Lindburgh was driving with Sonia next to him in the front seat going westbound on Boston Post Road in Pelham Manor, New York. As their vehicle was crossing the intersection of Hutchinson River Parkway slowly through a green light in traffic, the car behind them crashed into them! During the accident, Lindburgh hit his chest and left ribs on the steering wheel; and Sonia hit her right shoulder on the door. When the police spoke to the other driver, they accused our client’s vehicle for stopping in front of them and making it impossible to avoid hitting their car. Lindbergh and Sonia went to Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital that same day where they were evaluated, treated, and eventually cleared to go home.
As a result of the accident, Lindburgh suffered injuries to his right shoulder (rotator cuff tear), neck, lower back, chest, and left rib. Sonia suffered injuries to her right shoulder (posterior inferior labral tear), neck, and lower back. Despite therapy for their shoulder, they both continued experiencing pain when raising the arm above the head and reaching behind the back. The pain also felt worse at night and it prevented them from sleeping comfortably. Sonia complained of neck pain with stiffness and lower back pain that felt worse with bending down and also with walking for long periods of time. When conservative treatment measures failed to improve their symptoms, Lindburgh and Sonia received pain management injections. Additionally, Sonia underwent surgery to her right shoulder on September 7, 2018.
