What Happened?
On October 17th, 2021, Dawn was driving southbound on Wallace Street in Tuckahoe, New York when another vehicle driving westbound at the intersection of Lime Kiln Road failed to properly stop at a stop sign and began crossing through the road Dawn was driving on. Dawn did not have a stop sign and was driving through that intersection when the other driver t-boned Dawn, crashing into her car’s front driver’s side panel! Later, Dawn was taken to the emergency room at White Plains Hospital where she was evaluated, treated, and discharged home.
Dawn injured her lower back, right hip, and right knee due to this accident. She had difficulty with standing, sitting, bending, and finding a comfortable position. Sleeping at night was very difficult and she frequently experienced a pins and needle sensation in her right lower extremity. She received physical, orthopedic, and pain management treatment. When minimally invasive pain management was not enough to treat Dawn’s injured knee, she underwent right knee surgery on February 17, 2022. Dawn was able to continue working on modified duty and remains partially disabled.
Thanks to a friend’s recommendation, Dawn was told to contact The Case Handler team! About a week after her accident, Dawn called and hired us to handle her case. The Defendant’s insurance company initially offered $50,000 to settle Dawn’s bodily injury claim. As a highly experienced Tuckahoe car accident lawyer, we knew this offer wasn’t good enough. We rejected their offer and prepared to take the Defendant to court. In the middle of the suit, we successfully won summary judgment (judgment entered by the court in our favor without a full trial) and the Defendant’s insurance company finally agreed to award Dawn MAXIMUM POLICY LIMITS in the amount of $100,000.00!
